WebIt's generally not recommended to mix and match ram but from what I understand if it runs at the same speed and timings it shouldn't cause a problem. 48gb is a lot of ram though. If you don't need the full amount but 16gb isn't enough for your use case you may be better off just getting the 2x16gb kit and using it by itself.
